Cloud: Creating account without PW and invalid Mailaddress or wait too long to verify

Expected Behavior

Usually creating an account creates an email to set password. This will be send once and will be valid just a few days. (resending the welcome message is not the same)

Current Behavior

Possible Solution

Workaround:

  • delete the account and recreate it (fast, recomended)
  • set a password and let the user know, make him change it fast (slow)

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Login and go to user-management
  2. create new user with invalid Mail address
  3. see what (not) happens
  4. try to reset the password with the account (it has none yet, doesn't work)

Context

It creates a high amount of work overhead for Nextcloud admins (assuming all accounts have so set manually into groups once)

Your Environment

Nextcloud <18.0 (havn't tested above)
